Old Factory Corner in Appleby is a one-stop-shop for local produce, waste-free shopping, and specialty food vendors. Sustainability and showcasing the best of the Nelson Tasman region is at the heart of every business within this boutique complex. Parking aplenty makes it easy to pull up and wander around the various shops and a spacious courtyard complete with a kids playground ensures even the smallest of the family will be entertained.

At Connings Food Market you’ll be able to fulfil all your fresh produce needs. A family run farm a mere four kilometres away supplies all the green grocer products found here. By cutting out the middleman, reducing packaging and travel miles, the fresh produce sold here is sustainable in the whole sense of the world. Connings is committed to reducing waste and offering produce to the customer at a competitive price. You’ll often find rare vegetables and greens on the shelves here too, as the family likes to experiment on the farm with uncommon crops. A small café in the centre of the store offers lunchtime bites and baking made with the farm's produce, of course.

Across the courtyard, all of your pantry filling needs can be taken care of at GoodFor. A completely plastic free store, this wholefoods refillery is on a mission to enable people to stay clear of unnecessary waste. Bring your own vessel or use supplied paper bags to stock up on dried fruit, nuts, various flours, coffee — you name it. Keep your eyes peeled for a few local specialities at GoodFor, such as Sublime coffee or Nelson-made muesli.

While here, make sure not to bypass The Junction across the car park. This is a delicatessen specialising in local artisanal cheese and New Zealand wines. Everything for that perfect platter can be found within these walls. The people behind this store are passionate about everything they sell, and will work one-on-one with customers to ensure an experience like no other.

If sitting down for lunch in a stunning garden setting sounds like a good plan after all the shopping, Grape Escape is here to oblige. Find another lovely kid’s playground for the littles to explore, pet rabbits to admire, and an overall relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy a bite to eat and great coffee.
