The Workroom Caravan
Anna Begg
If you have a wedding, hen-do, birthday party, or any other kind of outdoor celebration planned in Wānaka, contact Anna Begg to hire The Caravan, a mobile bar complete with vintage design and smiley staff.
We catch Anna Begg before she rushes off to her next event with The Caravan, and get the inside word on what it takes to run a business with a side of business.
What’s your background?
My background is in interior and graphic design, and I’m also owner/operator of The Workroom on Brownston Street – a boutique Interior design, homewares and design store
What’s the story behind The Caravan?
Well it’s no secret Wānaka is a massive wedding destination, and after seeing something similar in Australia I thought it would go really well here too. I found the caravan in Cromwell – it was super rundown at the time of purchase, but after some careful renovations it’s come out just as I imagined. We were the very first mobile bar of its kind in Wanaka, and people just really love it. It’s a great extension of the interior design we’re known for at The Workroom, and it’s just a lot of fun!
How would you summarise The Caravan?
It’s a boutique little space that will add a real something special to your wedding or party. We supply the staff as well as some cool props for chill-out zones – think picnic rugs, cushions, small tables etc, and you supply the beverages. We’ll pour them for you and make sure everyone is having a good time!
Where can we hire you?
We are based in Wānaka but love to wander further afield, so would love to hear from you no matter where your event is being held - that’s the beauty of being a mobile bar! If you have an idea or vision for your event that isn’t mentioned here... just put it to us. We can make it happen, send us an email or give us a call.
