Tucked away in Catalina Bay, Gourmet Gannet is a local favourite in Hobsonville, known for its artisan sourdough and fresh-baked pastries. Everything is made in small batches using traditional methods, so whether you're grabbing a loaf of sourdough or a buttery croissant, you know it’s been baked fresh that day.

Gourmet Gannet started small, just a catering business in a Muriwai garage, before moving to Kumeu and eventually finding its home in Hobsonville in 2019. Now, with a bakery, a retail space, and a stall at the local Farmers Market, it’s become a go-to spot for locals. When COVID hit, the community’s support helped keep the bakery going, and that connection has only grown stronger since.

At the heart of the bakery is their 25-year-old sourdough starter, "Morgan," but their menu goes way beyond just bread. Their Portuguese tarts, custard doughnuts, and pistachio croissants have a cult following, and their seed crackers are so popular they can barely keep up with demand. The team is always dreaming up new flavours, keeping things fresh and exciting.

More than just a bakery, Gourmet Gannet is a place where people come together. It’s where friends catch up, families make weekend traditions, and even dogs get their fair share of love. At the end of the day, it’s all about good food, good people, and a whole lot of heart, something they’re proud to bring to the Hobsonville community, whenever the doors are open.
