Don’t fact-check us on this, but we’d say a mouthful of Nashville Hot Chicken has been proven to send serotonin levels through the roof. For a taste of good vibes and even better flavours, add Peach’s Hot Chicken to the delicious agenda ASAP.
Serving deprived Aucklanders a bite of authentic Nashville Hot Chicken is Peach’s specialty. Founder Alex George has perfected the Peach’s menu with his secret family recipes dating back to the home of fried chicken, Nashville, Tennessee. It’s safe to say that a bite of the good stuff here is unlike anything you’ve ever had before.
It all starts with selecting your spice level—mild, mild plus, medium, hot, or, for the really daring, Holy Cluck level. Then pick your fried chicken vessel—burger, waffles, biscuits and gravy (the American kind), or a traditional plate. Sounds simple, but each meal is about as drool-worthy as they come, so you’ll have a hard time choosing.
The burger boasts fried chicken thighs with slaw, cheese, tangy pickles and Nashville sauce, sandwiched between a buttery soft brioche bun. Meanwhile, the waffle packs a punch with simplicity—picture thick, fluffy waffles topped with chicken, whipped garlic butter and chilli maple syrup. Ooof.
For a taste of Americana, opt to pair your spicy vice with homemade Southern buttermilk biscuits, a side of honey and sausage gravy. Or keep it chill with a fried chicken plate, sporting your choice of the bird paired with pickles, sliced bread and one side.
Speaking of sides, where do we even start? Mac’ n’ cheese, braised greens, tater tots, slaw, potatoes and gravy and much, much more. If you’ve somehow made it this far and aren’t already en-route to Peach’s over in Panmure, stop reading and get going. We won’t be offended.
