This petite cafe packs a powerful punch and since opening in October 2024, it has attracted locals and travellers from far and wide.

The story of Soulful Coffee is one of passion, serendipity, and hard work. After many years working in hospitality, owners Ash Watson and Cloud West opened their Soulful Coffee caravan which has become a familiar sight in Ferrymead. They always had a dream to open a permanent space, so when a former real estate office became vacant in Diamond Harbour they jumped at the opportunity and partnered with co-owner India Curtis to open Soulful Coffee Shop.

What was once a drab office building has been transformed into a light, bright and airy cafe truly reflective of its soulful moniker. Matcha green features prominently in the decor from the exterior paint trim, to the interior walls and details all around the shop. Plentiful plant life adds to the joyful mood inside the cafe and the vibe is always friendly and bustling.

For fans of Lyttelton Coffee Company located across the harbour, you’re in luck, their coffee beans are in the hopper at Soulful Coffee Shop. Their smoothies are epic - just what you need if you feel like you’re not meeting your 5+ a day quota and their matchas have gained a stellar reputation across Instagram. On the food front, their treats are from Nourish Food Company (Soulful are the only cafe they supply) and they have pastries from Bellbird Bakery.
