From the legends behind cult-favourite eatery Winner Winner Chicken Shop comes a new venture sure to satisfy foodies from all corners of Hamilton. Cream Eatery flung its doors open in early 2021 and it’s been a hit from day dot.

Owners Luke and Chrissy Houghton sure know a thing or two about creating dishes people love to devour. Luke himself is a trained chef, while Chrissy is an expert at whipping up mega-impressive cakes. Lucky for our taste buds, this is a match made in heaven.

Cream Eatery sits pretty in the historic MLC Insurance building along Garden Place. From the moment you step through the door, you can tell that this venue has been crafted with care. Exposed concrete ceilings, terrazzo tiles and bright white finishes, each detail has been thoughtfully designed.

If you’re initially distracted by the tantalising cabinet of sweet treats, we don’t blame you. There’s an impressive array of goods on offer, from fluffy doughnuts to dainty tea cakes, chunky cookies and seriously delicious slices. The choices change every so often, so if you spot a bite you like, we recommend ordering it, stat.

As for the food, Luke is all about bold, hearty dishes that let the flavours and ingredients shine. His signature fried eggs are a testament to this, crisped to perfection in red chilli and paprika oil, served with red peppers and whipped feta on turmeric loaf.

The lunch menu offers one serious challenge though: choosing what to order. You’ll find Luke likes to change things, up but one thing is for sure - whatever you decide on will be damn delicious. It might be a premium smash burger or sando, a spicy, slow-cooked curry, or even a seasonal pasta dish. We’re so ready.
