Sometimes after a busy week at work, the last thing you feel like doing is facing the city again for an evening meal or after-hours drink. However, the suburbs of East Hamilton now have a hub of their own. Hayes Common is bringing delicious, wholefood cuisine right to the neighbourhood with flair, style and good taste.
Their menu is seasonally curated, using the freshest produce, line-caught fish and free-range (and local where possible) meat and eggs, and the range of New Zealand and overseas wine and beer is thoughtfully chosen to compliment the delicious flavours. The aesthetic of the restaurant is bright and warm, with a distinct style that is sure to cheer your day (and being slightly out of the main city, there is plenty of free parking available).
Hayes Common is passionate about engaging with the community, serving as a centre for the people of the area. Featuring New Zealand’s well-loved local beers such as Bootleg Brewery, McLeods and Sawmill, they also regularly change their ‘guest tap’ to bring you fresh new brews to try.
The restaurant has large tables to fit the whole family, as well as cosy nooks to curl up in with a cup of Atomic coffee and one of the magazines or books on display about the local architecture. A great spot to come down to and read the morning paper or watch the sunset over the river with a seasonal cocktail.
