Every city needs at least one good second-hand bookshop and if you live in or are visiting Hastings, then be prepared to strike gold at The Little Red Bookshop. It’s everything you want a second-hand bookshop to be, brimming with stacks of books to search through and that undeniable sense of comfort and cosiness.

Adrian and Siobhan are the proprietors of this treasure trove, and what they have created here honours the great tradition of reading. Throughout the shop, there are different sections such as fiction, travel, biographies, health and cooking. There’s also an impressive kids’ section, from young children’s picture books to young adult fiction, and some sweet teddy bears keeping a watchful eye over it all.

There are not only books to be found at The Little Red Bookshop. In the spirit of recycling, reusing and rehoming, you can also browse through an impressive set of vinyl records. Or if old-school board games are more your jam, then you’ll be happy to find a selection of classics on offer, such as Connect 4 and Backgammon.

A visit to The Little Red Bookshop is a chance to journey down memory lane, embrace your inner bookworm and come away with a find or two.
