Tatum, located in the small township of Manakau in the Horowhenua, is the kind of place that makes any occasion feel like a significant one. Set within the beautifully restored 1912 Tatum estate, this versatile destination brings together events, and accommodation in one elegant yet easy-going experience. Everything at Tatum feels thoughtfully designed to celebrate life’s moments in style.
The homestead itself, named after its original owner, Major Tatum, a larger-than-life local, has been given a stunning new lease of life. Helped by a fresh lick of paint inside and out, the building effortlessly balances heritage charm and contemporary design. There’s a graceful sense of history in every detail: polished wood, soft lighting, and wide verandas that open onto expansive gardens where lawn games and laughter fill the air. Bold, eye-catching wallpaper gives each room its own unique flavour, while the original stained glass windows add further colour to the space.
Tatum offers a wide range of accommodation options on-site, including 29 rooms, making it a great spot for a special getaway. Dogs are welcome too. It's a destination for celebrations of every scale: weddings, private parties, corporate gatherings, or weekend escapes. With its blend of charm and attention to detail, it’s a place where people come to connect, unwind, and make memories. Tatum doesn’t just host experiences; it creates them.
