On a prominent brick-clad corner of historic Jackson Street lies Caffiend, a beloved neighbourhood coffee spot that’s been serving loyal Petone locals since 2003.

You can tell the place is steeped in history, although over the years it’s been touched up with a lick of contemporary flair. The impressive brick veneer is replicated inside the classy cafe, which strikes the perfect balance between bustling hub and relaxed comfort. The fitout is a thoughtful blend of rustic and modern elements, featuring exposed walls, polished wooden surfaces, and plenty of greenery. Large windows invite plenty of sunlight and the gaze of passersby observing the calm, collected atmosphere within.

A diverse menu ensures that all tastes and preferences are catered for. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty breakfast, a light salad, or something sweet from the cabinet, Caffiend has something to satisfy every craving. Its signature dishes, like the lambs fry stack and Mexican eggs, showcase a fusion of international flavours crafted from locally sourced ingredients. Complementing the food is the expertly brewed Karamu Coffee, consistently praised for its rich flavour and aroma.

A true community hub, Caffiend relishes its role in the fabric of Petone society, generously lending its space to live music and local artwork. From solo coffee breaks to brunch meets with the gang, it’s a place where all are welcome.
