Love Stomp

Coffee and fresh flowers, a combination that just makes sense, the more you think about it. Paraparaumu floral business Love Stomp is one of the best proponents of this, serving up exquisite arrangements and strong brews from their colourful spot right by the beach.
Your senses are instantly enveloped the moment you walk through those distinctive turquoise doors. Beautiful flowers, both individual stems neatly housed in vases to full bouquets in literally every hue, are dotted all around the shop. The delicate scent of the petals is complemented by the rich aroma of the Dark Horse coffee brewed freshly on site, as the coffee machine busily hisses away. It’s a true community hub, a space that feels easygoing and lived-in, full of chatter and laughter. Good tunes are always playing, and Saturday market days are a particular highlight, when the place buzzes with extra energy.
Behind the counter, owner Rowan runs the show, bringing her extensive floristry experience from the UK (yes, her work has featured on Downton Abbey). Away from the silver screen, Rowan’s also done high-end weddings and luxury events, so rest assured, you’re dealing with a real pro. Those credentials show in every bouquet and arrangement: the artistry, the attention to detail, and the flair that makes each piece feel like it’s been made for a moment worth remembering.
And yet, it’s an unpretentious place that feels welcoming to all, and the philosophy here is that everyone deserves good flowers. Whether you’re after something small and thoughtful or a statement arrangement, you’ll walk out with something to match your vision and your budget. The shop also brims with candles, pottery, and vases, so there are plenty of neat gifts to pick up on the way too.
The name of the shop itself is a nod to family and joy, inspired by a line dance that Rowan’s family used to do at gatherings to Rivers of Babylon by Boney M. A fitting name for a place that celebrates connection, creativity, and community.
