House of Puck

Raumati Beach’s House of Puck is a treasure trove of colour, character, and curiosities, where the joy is as much in the hunt as it is in the find. Relaxed and wonderfully eclectic, it’s a place where the refurbished vintage furniture tells as much of a story as the conversations between the loyal regulars who keep coming back.

Inside, owner Kelly Duckworth has fashioned a calm and neutral canvas to contain the busy noise and colour of her ever-changing collection. The entire interior shell - ceiling, walls, and concrete floor - has been wrapped in the same hue of white, with the floor hand-stencilled by Kelly herself over two and a half days. It gets a lot of comments from visitors, and rightfully so, and there’s always chalk out the front of the shop for customers to create their own impromptu artworks. Named after Kelly’s favourite Shakespearean character (“what better muse than a naughty boy fairy?” she explains), the store is designed to celebrate the ethereal stories held by all its vintage pieces.

That sense of magic runs right throughout the store. Antique pieces, vintage finds, and curious objects are carefully curated and constantly rearranged, meaning a visit one week can look completely different from the next. It’s this ever-evolving approach, along with the warm community that has grown around the space, that makes House of Puck so much more than your regular antique shop.

There’s plenty happening beyond what’s on the shelves, too. Kelly offers private home styling with a gentle, intentional, and sustainable approach, working with what people already own, as well as custom furniture finishes. After hours, the shop transforms again for private creative workshops. Here, old things are given new life, creativity is encouraged, and there’s always another surprising story waiting to be uncovered.
