Little Beehive is a treasure trove of beautiful items made by local Nelson Tasman creatives. The shop functions as a co-op, with makers sharing the behind-the-counter work amongst themselves, creating an economical opportunity for small businesses inside. The Little Beehive also offers customers the experience to meet the makers, further adding to the magical shopping experience of this Nelson collective.
You’re bound to find that perfect gift for a friend, your mum, grandma, or neighbour at Little Beehive – or perhaps a souvenir from your visit to Nelson. Discover prints, knits, jewellery, toys, handmade clothing, ceramics and much more in the store. And don’t forget to glance through the little bios of the makers displayed alongside their handmade goods.
Throughout the year, Little Beehive runs workshops of various kinds where you can learn how to create some of the lovely pieces on display, directly from the makers. But be aware, Little Beehive is the kind of store that is hard to walk out empty-handed, but then, what better way to justify a bit of spending than by knowing you’re directly supporting local makers at the same time?
