Hidden down an alleyway just off the main drag of downtown Nelson lies Trouble & Fox Boutique, an inviting wee spot filled with tastefully curated apparel. Affectionately known by locals as simply ‘Trouble’, the boutique caters for discerning and fashionable men and women.

Each item in the store has been hand-picked with its loyal customer base and an accessible price point in mind. Trouble & Fox supports New Zealand labels where possible (think Ruby, Thing Thing, Commoners, Stolen Girlfriends Club) and spices things up with a few interesting international labels (Brixton, Paloma Wool, Veja, Assembly Label, Rollas). Their curated selection of men’s and women’s apparel, shoes, accessories and gifts, are artfully arranged in the playful boutique.

Run by Nelson locals husband-wife duo Craig and Liberty Fox, Trouble & Fox is the culmination of the pair’s collective style honed by inspiration gathered during extensive travels across Europe and the US. Back in New Zealand and in the early stages of setting up shop, the couple stumbled upon a children’s book in an op shop called Trouble the Fox (find it framed within the store) which gave them the idea for the name.

A wide demographic of customers are drawn to browse and shop here. The store is a bit of a community hub, and you’ll find locals bumping into friends, strangers discussing the latest styles and people behind the counter full of smiles on any given day. Whether you’re after something new for the wardrobe, an update on accessories or simply enjoy browsing the latest street fashion, Trouble & Fox Boutique is the place to visit.
