80 Ardmore Street, Wānaka

If you find yourself craving a cold one but can’t bear to tear yourself away from the stunning sights of Lake Wānaka, you’ll be pleased that Wānaka Brew Bar exists. Located in a light and sunny upstairs space on Ardmore Street, this popular bar can be summed up in three words: brews and views.

Surrounded by expansive windows with prime balcony seating, Wānaka Brew Bar has been offering front-row views overlooking the picture-perfect landscape since 2022. Head up to the bar and you’ll find the largest selection of Wānaka Beerworks craft beer alongside appearances from other locally loved breweries across 16 rotating taps. Not a beer drinker? Everyone is looked after with a well-curated selection of wines, spirits, and specialty non-alcoholic drinks – all made in Aotearoa with a special focus on Central Otago.

To enjoy the scenery for as long as possible, you’ll want to get some food in your system. As destiny would have it, Wānaka Brew Bar shares its home with Sal’s Authentic New York Pizza, aka a beer’s best friend (hot tip: visit between 3pm-7pm for the daily $15 pint and pizza deal). Complimentary freshly popped popcorn is also served and there’s free dog treats for any four-legged guests, with the option to add a koha donation to support WAI Wānaka, a local non-profit organisation.

Whether you’re fresh off the ski slopes, lake, or mountain biking tracks, Wānaka Brew Bar is a fun, laid-back and friendly spot to gather with friends and sip something local. Live music is on the calendar every weekend, so make sure to check out their socials for the upcoming line-up.
