Food truck-style, options are simple here at Wānaka's Burrito Craft where burritos and tacos dominate the menu: build your own burrito by choosing a protein, your desired spice level from their Spice-o-Meter, and doubling some of the fillings as you see fit. Owners Julia and Marc are Mexican food lovers from way back. After spending some time globetrotting (and sampling burritos everywhere they went), they decided Wānaka needed a taste of Mexico too.

Fish tacos are a crowd favourite, and if you’re asking the crew why that is, they’ll tell you it's simply ‘coz they're delicious.' Cabbage pickled with lemon and lime and a generous piece of crusted fish contribute to the delicious award, while vegans and vegetarians are more than welcome to join the party with Burrito Craft's range of veg burritos, tacos and loaded fries. All meals are made to order and all tacos are gluten-free thanks to a clever combination of corn flour and polenta. A kids' menu keeps the small people happy and well-fed, and if you’re planning on eating on-site, there are plenty of communal picnic tables to choose from.

The communal area is shared with a mix of other food trucks and the easygoing vibes make this place a non-pretentious spot to park up and enjoy some food, al fresco style. It’s lucky there are napkins about because this place ain’t about fine dining with cutlery, it’s about producing finger-lickin' good Mexican food.
