The ideal no-nonsense neighbourhood bar, Golding’s Free Dive has been open since early 2013, and has built a strong loyal following, and for good reason.
Situated down the ever creative and ever-evolving Leeds Street in Te Aro, Golding’s is definitely the spot for your libation. The bar pays tribute to the quality dive bar scene in North America. ‘Free Dive’ means Golding’s alcohol choices are their own – no shit liquor corporations telling them what to do and what to sell.
The bar’s colourful interior, artworks and brickwork create a warm social ambience inside, and a small non-smoking courtyard pushes darters down the road so you can enjoy your night smoke-free.
Golding’s brings a quality and friendly presence to the Wellington bar scene, with knowledgeable staff and a real emphasis on the beverages that they have available. Craft beer is fundamental here with seven rotational taps showcasing New Zealand quality brews, as well as a champion international bottled beer selection.
To accompany your beverage, Golding’s works with their mates, Wellington pizza stars Pomodoro, so you can have your pizza and eat it too.
