Exuding 70’s retro vibes, ParrotDog’s cellar door (‘Nice. Takeaway’) and brewery in Lyall Bay, is a welcome addition to the increasingly popular seaside suburb.

The décor started with a ’70s inspired feature wall, wallpapered in a retro yellow print. From there, the rest of the space organically came together. The end result is a warm and inviting spot complete with scattered greenery, perfect for 'a tasting and a chat'.

Beneath a bright red florescent “BEER” sign is a spacious walk-in chiller holding Parrot Dog singles and six packs, and a few non-alcoholic options such as Six Barrel Soda. Unlike the standard walk-in chiller at your local bottle shop, it is clean and minimalistic.

Nice. Takeaway offers complimentary tastings from a 10-tap line-up which they have pouring at their cellar door. Their most popular brew, 'Bitter Bitch', is noteworthy, and tastings are acceptable at any time of the day. You can also purchase takeaway brews, and they encourage a BYO 'flagon' policy. Alternatively, they have ParrotDog glass and plastic riggers available to purchase.

They also stock other prominent local brands like Six Barrel Soda, Fix and Fogg Peanut Butter, Wellington Chocolate Factory and Almighty juices. The Parrotdog cellar door also stocks Parrotdog merchandise, including caps, tees and tote bags. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable about the craft beer industry and always up for a chat.
