Walking onto the grounds of Mona Vale Homestead & Pantry is a transportive experience of its own.
The expansive property is lush with trees, landscaped gardens and charming bridges, creating an idyllic setting for the beautifully appointed restaurant, perched along the Avon River.
Inside The Pantry at Mona Vale, you’ll find nods to the building’s historic charm throughout. The traditional wallpaper, gorgeous fireplace mantel, chandeliers and stunning architectural details make a leisurely brunch feel like a journey back in time, while still managing to feel casual and approachable enough for any day of the week. You can even bring the pup with you, as the entire restaurant (inside and out) is dog-friendly to well-behaved pups!
On the menu, there are staples like Avo Smash and Pantry Porridge, alongside more ambitious fare like the vegan Foi Gras, made of sporeshift shiitake and wild mushroom foie gras, kawakawa butter, raspberry and tamari jus, and served with Percival Street Bakery’s dark German rye. Other incredible stand-outs include the Beef Cheek, and delightfully fresh Crunchita Salad, showcasing Crunchita cos salad, mixed seed with tarragon buttermilk. We would be remiss not to mention the High Tea, which can come paired with festive bubbly, loose leaf tea, or an espresso coffee.
If you’re looking to indulge in a bit of goodness off the vine, the wine list won’t leave you disappointed. The curated list features selections from local vineyards like The Boneline, and will happily satisfy anyone at your table.
