If you’re searching for a taste of London cool meets Mediterranean vibes in the heart of Christchurch city, Restaurant O.G.B is the answer. Located inside the heritage Old Government Building and just a few steps from OGB Bar and Courtyard, get ready to meet your new favourite fancy yet casual dining establishment in the ‘03.

Walking into the restaurant you are at once taken with the decor where every detail has been thought of. The burnt orange terracotta walls, plentiful greenery and artwork lean into Mediterranean style while the crisp white tablecloths, sleek wooden bar and velvet banquette seating would not be out of place in the latest London hotspot. Spread over two levels, the staircase is quite the centrepiece of the restaurant, leading up to a mezzanine floor. We recommend sitting at one of the tables that overlooks the bar below, it’s quite the experience to watch the skilled bartenders at work.

Restaurant O.G.B is an all-day affair with their brunch menu kicking off at 7am. Perfect for breakfast meetings, popping in to grab a coffee and freshly baked muffin or scone on your way into the office or if you’re a late riser luckily brunch is on until 3pm so you’ve got plenty of time to take advantage of it. From there it’s only a couple of hours until the dinner menu is on offer from 5pm, making it a venue that suits all occasions.

The team behind Restaurant O.G.B has made a concerted effort to hero local produce and they are committed to showcasing the finest offerings from New Zealand’s growers and artisans. From using Cranky Goat feta and Bellbird Sourdough for their Avocado on Toast at brunch to pork from Hurunui Farms and locally sourced seafood at dinner. On the drinks front, Little Biddy is the house gin, most of the wines, whiskeys and other spirits are from Aotearoa and Lyttelton Coffee Co. supplies the coffee beans. And every dish is beautifully presented on colourful crockery from Temuka Pottery.

On their menu Restaurant O.G.B states that they are the dining room of Christchurch and from the impeccable service to the stunning decor to the cuisine, coffee and cocktails, it’s a dining room you’ll want to visit again and again.
