Dot & Winnies is an owner-operated café situated in the heart of Hamilton, renowned for its welcoming atmosphere and memorable food. Inside is spacious, comfortable and versatile, meaning it’s perfect for everything from large gatherings to more intimate get togethers.

Its name is a heartfelt nod to the owners’ grandmothers, Dot and Winnie, both of whom were passionate about baking, cooking and all things hospitality. Their legacy of warmth and care is infused into every aspect of Dot & Winnies, from the smile and wave you receive at the door to the homemade recipes made with love. Some of Dot’s original recipes are still frequented, including her beloved scones (made just the way she did) and her mouthwatering yo-yos, now locally famous.

The menu at Dot & Winnies offers something for everyone, from a cabinet crammed with fresh sandwiches, salads and sweets, to a seasonal menu featuring popular dishes like eggs benedict with house-made hash and watercress. The team loves creating timeless favourites with modern twists, and locally sourced ingredients are championed whenever possible. To drink, Supreme coffee beans are at the ready and Webster tea is served in quaint china cups.

With a catering background, co-owner Mike is able to bring a taste of Dot & Winnies to occasions across Hamilton. Nothing is too difficult: from morning teas and dietary requirements, to dinners or canapés for that special event. Naturally, all food is prepared onsite to ensure maximum freshness.

Whether you're stopping in for a quick coffee or organising an event, Dot & Winnie’s emphasis on love, community, and delicious food makes for a spot you’ll find hard to leave.

One thing is for sure—only good things come out of Riverbank Lane. So it’s safe to say when Café Kopi found a home in this community, we were pretty stoked. The vibe of this little caffeine haven is pretty chic, to say the least.
