Come for the art, stay for the coffee and doughnuts. Dough Bakery’s Fergusson Drive outfit is conveniently located in one of Upper Hutt’s most popular cultural haunts.

Based in the foyer of Whirinaki Whare Taonga, Dough blends seamlessly in with the gallery, making it a great place to stop for refreshments before or after your visit. In keeping with the other Dough bakeries around Wellington, a classy royal blue dominates the fit-out, manifested most elegantly in the eye-catching tiled counter and the plush velvet seats. Large windows and ranch sliders bring in plenty of light, while an inviting outdoor area lets you enjoy the sun on one of those famously hot Upper Hutt days.

From sweet bites to savoury goodies, Dough’s range is almost unparalleled. Classic Kiwi staples are the forte here—think cream doughnuts, custard squares, egg sandwiches, and raspberry buns, all made from scratch with quality ingredients. The chunky filled sandwiches are another hot favourite, and perhaps ironically for a bakery, the seeded gluten-free loaf is a crowd-pleaser that attracts people from far and wide.

With everything from artisan breads to decadent slices to tuck into, Dough plays a vital role in Upper Hutt, ensuring locals can enjoy quality baked goods created fresh every day.
