Nest Tree Houses
The Hakataramea Valley is a slice of rural South Canterbury heaven, with picture-perfect landscapes, incredible views and nature all around. Nestled in the heart of this valley are the Nest Tree Houses, a bespoke luxe treehouse escape that, after staying one night, you won’t ever want to leave.
These impressive treehouses came to be after owners Andy and Elizabeth decided to bring some colour and diversification to their sixth-generation farming business. After more than a century of the land being used purely for various types of farming, it is now home to this high-end accommodation space. In the forest at the top of the hill, the location has sentimental value, as Andy helped his father plant the trees here when he was a young boy.
Andy and Elizabeth’s vision for these treehouses was to create a place where guests could retreat, reconnect and immerse themselves in nature amongst the treetops. All while still enjoying luxurious home away from home comforts. The thought and details that have gone into creating this escape are clear to see from the outdoor bathtub, allowing you to take full advantage of the views, sumptuous natural linens, and ceiling windows so even when you’re inside, you feel a part of your surroundings and a stocked outdoor kitchen complete with a Weber barbeque. Elizabeth points out that one of the biggest hits of the treehouses with guests is the barrel oak sauna, from which you can enjoy panoramic views and feel immersed in the forest.
The best word to describe a stay at the Nest Tree Houses is magical. You will instantly feel transported to another world, one of serenity, peacefulness and luxury. This little piece of Waitaki paradise is a true jewel, and you shouldn’t think twice about booking a stay here.
