King & Teppett on Palmerston North's Main Street makes interior design feel easy. Family-owned for decades, the team strikes a nice balance of knowledge and approachability, so you’re welcome to browse freely or ask for guidance when you need it.
With one of the largest showrooms in the lower North Island, the floor is intentionally set out like a series of real, livable rooms, making it easy to picture pieces at home. You’ll find lounge and dining settings, lighting, rugs and window treatments, outdoor furniture for decks and patios, plus a thoughtful mix of homewares and gifts. Art is part of the offer too, with rotating work from New Zealand creatives on the walls. Many items can be customised, which makes finishing a room much simpler than starting from scratch every time. If you are hunting for something small, there’s a well-curated range of candles, home fragrance and kitchen goods too.
Design services sit alongside the retail floor. Their studio is happy to help with everything from fabric and finish selections to full residential and commercial fit-outs. The process is straightforward: the team listens first, shares options and then works with you to land the right scale, materials and mood for the way you live and work.
What sets this place apart is the mix of depth and warmth. You get a large, well-stocked showroom and a crew who genuinely enjoy solving the puzzle with you. Drop in for a gift, come back for a couch, or lean on the team when it’s time to pull the whole look together.
