Bringing a vibrant splash of Pacific colour to Porirua, Panikeke is a lively little gift shop that aims to highlight and celebrate the local Pasifika community.
The bold, beautiful yellow storefront catches your eye as soon as you turn into Serlby Place, and this energetic palette is recreated throughout the shop. Mirroring the warm, inviting glow of the Pacific sun, the walls are painted floor-to-ceiling in the same tone, acting as the perfect canvas against which the story of Panikeke is told. Tightly packed shelves overflow with myriad colours and shapes on one side of the store, while on another, beautiful garments and bags are displayed in a dazzling spectrum of hues.
Panikeke was established to shine a spotlight on Porirua’s and Aotearoa’s Pacific populations, bringing a slice of Pasifika paradise to all. Perhaps a nod to the sheer diversity found within these communities, there’s an impressive array of goods to peruse at Panikeke. From beauty products such as coconut oils, lotions, and soaps, to homeware and all manner of clothing and accessories, each piece has been lovingly crafted and is waiting to bring a unique taste of the islands to your home.
With a vision to celebrate the best of the Pacific through sharing quality products with all communities, Panikeke has effortlessly woven its own segment into the dynamic fabric of Porirua.
