Bridging the gap between Queenstown and Arrowtown, Broken Heart Gin Garden offers an unexpected world-class gin experience on the main roadside in Arthurs Point.

When we say world-class, we’re not just kissing up. Broken Heart’s Original Gin recipe has been lovingly developed over three years, using the purest water paired with 11 natural botanicals. Each bottle is carefully hand-produced with eco-refill pouches available – a first for New Zealand. The family’s dedication to perfection has garnered international acclaim, clinching the coveted title of World's Best London Dry at the International Wine & Spirit Competition 2023.

But before there was global success, there was loss. The story of Broken Heart starts with a friendship forged between founders Joerg and Bernd, who were united by their love for crafting premium gin. Sadly, Bernd passed away suddenly, leaving the other’s heart shattered. As Joerg began to heal, he devoted his time to bringing Broken Heart to the community, in memory of his dearest friend.

The Gin Garden invites you to experience the full range of award-winning spirits,, including traditional classics to gins spiked with rhubarb, quince, pinot noir, and wild plum. In a beautiful space that looks out across the mountain range, private tastings are also available for groups of 6 or more, as well as the chance to simply stop in and enjoy tasting flights, cocktails and a modern European-inspired menu (the Flammkuchen is flawless).

Whether you’re a seasoned gin drinker or curious to learn more, Broken Heart has created a warm and welcoming destination that celebrates friendship, dedication and excellence.
