Hidden downstairs from its sister restaurant Margo’s, this underground cocktail bar in Queenstown makes it immediately clear that having fun runs in this family’s genes. Coated in a vivid colour combo of papaya orange and deep green, Little Mez is a go-to for tequila enthusiasts – or for those who simply enjoy sipping on sunshine in a cosy low-lit space.

Agave, tequila, mezcal… These are the keywords that rule the space, and it’s hard to miss the gleaming bottles of high-quality distilled spirits lining the bar shelves. Whatever you’re into, you’ll find it amongst the extensive cocktail menu that ranges from Little Mez signatures to margarita-inspired mixes and all the classics you know and love, perfectly executed. A special mention must be given to the exciting non-alcoholic options for our sober curious friends.

Don’t speak tequila? Not to worry. The knowledgeable bartenders are always up for a chat and can mix you up something special whether you’re into smoky and herbaceous or crisp and spicy flavour profiles. If you’re feeling experimental, we highly recommend going in blind with their “Bartender's Choice” bespoke option.

When the ache for a good bite kicks in, there’s no need to bid your farewells. Little Mez offers a delicious range of hearty and flavour-packed sharing plates from the kitchen of Margo’s, including the famous coconut tempura prawns, gloriously crunchy fried chicken, zesty bowls of smashed avocado and more.

As a date night spot, happy hour drinks after work (5-7 pm), listening and grooving to live DJs on Fridays and Saturdays, or a regular for you and your best mates to gather, Little Mez wins every time.
