Lakefront Drive, Rotorua

Eighty Six is a charming coffee spot located at Rotorua’s lakefront, offering a steady stream of great brews and views. Proudly open seven days a week, Eighty Six is perfect for grabbing a takeaway coffee, a cold drink, or something tasty from the cabinet, all while taking in the serene beauty of the recently developed lakefront.

The coffee beans are sourced from Incafe Organic Coffee, which some claim are the best in town. Add to that a selection of fresh, lovingly made cabinet food, and you’ve got all the ingredients for a perfect pitstop. Whether you're in for a quick cuppa or chilling lakeside with a snack, Eighty Six has you covered. And with those lake views as your backdrop, why would you want to leave?

The story behind the name is a special one – it comes from the number of Kim’s (the founder) family home in Rotorua, where people used to come together for good times, great food, and never left hungry or thirsty. That’s exactly the vibe Kim wanted to recreate down at the lakefront. Owning a café was always the childhood dream for Kim, inspired by watching people gather at coffee shops and imagining a place where mates and strangers could come together. Now, that dream’s alive and brewing at Eighty Six.

Eighty Six brings to Rotorua more than just awesome coffee and food. It’s a spot where people can connect, relax, and make memories - all with the stunning lakefront as a backdrop. And if a few international visitors head home and rave about the beautiful Rotorua lakefront because of their time here, then Eighty Six is doing exactly what it set out to do.
