Saigon ’60s brings a slice of Ho Chi Minh to Rotorua. Proudly family-run, this cheerful spot is known for their deliciously authentic Vietnamese favourites (the phở especially), and for good reason.

The founders started the business back in 2018 without any previous hospitality experience, just driven by their serious love of food and Vietnamese cuisine. Along the way, word of mouth turned their spot into a seriously popular local favourite for sit-in dining or easy, fresh takeaways.

You can genuinely taste the time and care that goes into creating these flavours. Their phở broth is simmered for more than 48 hours and is unsurprisingly one of the top orders among regulars, alongside their bánh mì, made fresh in-house too. No shortcuts here. The team is particular about keeping the depth of flavour true to Vietnamese food, while still giving diners room to make a dish their own if they want to customise.

That can mean ordering just about any combination you can think of (within reason): roast duck phở, choosing the protein in an enormous noodle salad or loading up extras in your bánh mì. Everything on the menu is delicious as-is (and honestly, we recommend trusting the experts), but if you’re feeling creative or just extra hungry, they’re very open to accommodating.

Whatever you order, you’re pretty much guaranteed to walk away full, satisfied and happy, with the added satisfaction of choosing something fresh and healthy.
