Home to both the town’s only boutique movie theatre and climbing gym, The Wall and Basement Cinema complex might be an unlikely combination, but one that seems to work.

The two theatres have just 23 and 13 seats in each, meaning curling up here to watch something entertaining or informative is an intimate and relaxing affair and there’s no jostling to get the best seats in the house. Helping you to unwind even more is the select offerings of craft beer and wine (that you’re welcome to take in with you). Proud to show movies that aren’t your typical blockbusters makes Basement Cinema a go-to spot for locals who would rather watch an indie-style comedy, documentary, or something that's simply not found at the bigger theatres.

Plenty of climbing enthusiasts make their way here to give the impressively high climbing wall a go, and whether you’re a novice or expert, The Wall is happy to accommodate. (The team will teach you the ropes before you start if this is all new to you). Open seven days and no matter the weather, young and old can enjoy the challenge of bouldering and rock climbing, and with a social, inclusive environment like this, no one feels left out.
