Barker’s Foodstore & Eatery sits in a stunning setting on the banks of the Waihi River in the heart of Geraldine. High ceilings, large windows, open-planned dining and dots of refreshing pastel tones create the perfect backdrop for your breakfast or lunch. Spot repurposed Barker’s bottles as light fixtures, plenty of foliage adding to that cosy feeling and murals by local artists John Badcock.

A flagship store for the famous Barker’s of Geraldine, everything at the eatery here is made to showcase the incredible range of products produced by the Geradine condiment makers just down the road. If you thought jam was all there was to it, you’ll find yourself proven oh-so-wrong with a visit here. Head to the tasting station and go wild with options galore. Browse the shop shelves, and fill a basket with flavourful jars and bottles, plus grab a free, Barker’s created recipe, to use for inspiration in your own kitchen.

Needless to say, everything on the menu has been paired with something Barker’s. Lunching here is a great way to get ideas on how to use various products at home and experience all there is to this wonderful business. The kitchen team creates a new, diverse menu every few months, and strives to include plenty of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options on it.

If you find yourself in a hurry, the front of house team can pour a take away coffee in a flash, and slip a brioche, éclair or scone in a bag for your on-the-road-nibbling-pleasure.
