After a long week, there’s something extremely comforting about pulling up to your local for a pint. For the lucky residents of Mount Albert, that’s at their neighbourhood joint Bar Martin.
Unsuspectingly tucked away along Martin Avenue, this place is all about homey vibes, tasty tipples and good banter. It’s the kind of venue that makes you want to become a local if you’re not already. Don’t mind us; we’re just Googling places for rent in Mount Albert.
Bar Martin’s strength is in its simplicity. The inviting facade of windows makes way for an expansive wooden bar flanked by industrial-style shelving. Offset by fresh white walls and blue feature panels, you’ll feel at ease the moment you step through the door.
But that’s not all - tucked away out the back of the bar is a secluded sunny courtyard with bench seating and lush greenery. We couldn’t think of a better spot to while away a lazy summer evening.
When it comes to the line-up of vino and beer, it’s only the best for punters. There are beers to suit everyone tastes, from Hallertau’s amazing sours and pale ales to Parrotdog’s famous Hazy Birdseye or just a crisp ice-cold Asahi. The wine list is also dedicated for full enjoyment, with natural and organic wines from around the world as well as your old favourites too.
Top off your 5 pm sip with an order of finger-licking nibbles like lovingly cured meats and seriously drool-worthy, saucy meatballs. Soak this all up with a few slices of their fresh sourdough with specialty butter, and you have yourself a winner. The snacks are designed for sharing, but in all honesty, we won’t judge if you want a plate all to yourself.
