As the big sister to Little Bread & Butter Bakery in Ponsonby Central, Bread & Butter Café Bakery in Grey Lynn gives off a homely and warm ambience with a  large open layout and high ceilings. There's plenty of natural light coming in through the large north facing windows which makes it a great spot to read a book, catch up on emails with the free internet & there is plenty of room for when friends turn up.

The teapots, biscuit tins and old milk bottles decorating the place serve to give it a rustic homey feel and will transform you on a comforting and nostalgic trip back to scones and cuppa teas at Gran's place. Bread and Butter bakes their goods fresh on site using NZ organic and sustainably sourced flour with no additives, plus the chicken and eggs all come from happy chickens! Gluten friendly breads and sweets are also available.

The traditional pastries are notably authentic and I'm sure their almond croissants wouldn't feel too out of place in a little Parisian pattiserie. With an extensive breakfast and lunch menu as well as more specialty breads than you can shake a baguette at, head down to this bakery if you're in the neighbourhood.
