Opening back in 2019, Lilian is a bustling neighbourhood restaurant in Auckland's Grey Lynn that is quickly becoming a local institution. Known for its loosely European-inspired menu centred around a woodfired oven, it’s not just the food that has people coming back for more: the inviting atmosphere, top-notch hospitality and thoughtfully curated experience combine to make Lilian the beloved spot that it is.

The moment you step into Lilian, you're greeted by a warm and welcoming environment. The textured walls, intimate lamps, and cosy dark-red booths transport you instantly to Europe. The woodfired oven is the heart of the kitchen, infusing the cleverly designed dishes with a distinctive, smoky flavour. Dine inside, amongst the animated ambience, or soak up the evening sun outside, cocktail in hand of course. The bar seating is ideal for those looking to enjoy a drink, offering a perfect vantage point to soak in the restaurant's vibrant energy.

The menu is a celebration of the seasons, featuring dishes which highlight the freshest ingredients. The wood fired pizza is a well known highlight, in particular the unique and delightful flavour combination of prosciutto and grapes. Besides the pizza, standout items include the succulent lamb ribs, the perfectly charred wood fired bread, and the flavorful wood fired eggplant. To sip on, Lilian’s Cosmopolita cocktail has also become a favourite, garnering quite the loyal following.

Lilian brings to Auckland more than just a dining experience; there is a sense of community and consistency. People know what to expect in terms of exceptional quality and impeccable service, and it’s something they can’t get enough of. A cherished part of Grey Lynn, this place has made itself synonymous with an exceptional dining experience.
