3 John St, Ranfurly

With its bright neon sign and a cabinet of all things nice, Floral & Feast is a cheerful addition to the Ranfurly community. Opened in 2022 by cousins Rae and Jo, this cafe ensures locals and out-of-towners are never far from excellent coffee, tasty food to grab on-the-go, and indulgent treats to get them through the week.

There’s no menu here – and absolutely no need for one, as a fully stocked cabinet of delicious delights takes centre stage. Everything you see is made fresh on site every morning, from hearty brekky burritos, homemade pies and the signature Ranfurly McMuffin, to wholesome salads, veggie-packed frittatas and cheese rolls (we are in the south, after all).

With a gift for whisking and mixing, it’s the desserts that crown Floral & Feast as a local favourite. Warm scones with butter, classic Kiwi slices, flaky cruffins oozing with tart berry jam, and soft cinnamon scrolls disappear almost as soon as they’re out of the oven. It’s no surprise that Rae and Jo have expanded into catering, crafting stunning wedding cakes or simply keeping the nearby farmers well-fed at morning-tea time.

Floral & Feast also doubles as a boutique store, showcasing products from makers and artisans from the Māniatoto region. While you wait for your coffee, browse the bouquets of dried flowers, natural candles and skincare, colourful homewares, art prints, and merino knitwear – each item as unique as the cafe itself.

A cosy nook of comfortable couches serves as a nice reminder to stay a while longer. After all, what’s the rush? Enjoy a hot brew served in a cute floral mug, indulge in a sweet treat, and take in the pink-hued charm of Floral & Feast.
