As you walk off the footpath of Victoria Street and up the stairs to Boo’s, be prepared for a taste of Southern American hospitality, complete with inviting speakeasy vibes and a well-stocked bar. The premise of Boo’s is simple; whiskey, food and music, and the experience here definitely delivers on all three fronts.

The attention to detail that has gone into the decor first captures your eye as you walk through the door - the bar is a showpiece.   If you are a lover of pool, there is a perfectly formed nook with a table and space for spectators, and when you enter the main dining space, there is an instant sense of cosiness and comfort, emanating from the green leather booths and dim mood lighting from whiskey bottle pendants.

Speaking of whiskey, it is what they do best here at Boo’s, from tasting flights to specialty cocktails. But don’t despair if it isn’t your tipple of choice, as there is an extensive drinks list and the Boo’s team are always at the ready with a recommendation or two.

Once you’ve settled on a drink, it’s time to peruse the menu of refined but decadent comfort dishes so typical of Southern American cuisine. There’s always a selection of sliders and small plates, plus larger ones - all designed for sharing. The bourbon and coke glazed ribs are legendary… just prepared to get a little messy.

There is often live music at Boo’s to round out the evening, and if you visit on a Wednesday, stick around for their open mic night and discover local talent.
