The ultimate coffee hosts, Ozone Coffee, has a reputation around New Zealand and beyond for producing superior specialty coffee. At their cafe in Christchurch’s Walker Street, they’ve also hit the nail on the head when it comes to creating a warm and inviting space for the community. From dogs and kids to digital nomads and cyclists with their bicycles, everyone is welcomed with open arms at Ozone.

From humble beginnings in New Plymouth over 27 years ago, Ozone has gone from strength to strength, with cafes in their hometown, Auckland, London and now Christchurch. Their coffee is distributed around the world, and chances are you will have visited a cafe with their beans in the hopper.

When you first walk into Ozone Coffee’s Christchurch location, the aesthetic is a mix of industrial meets minimalism with a good dash of lightness and brightness thrown in the mix. On a warm day, the large roller door will be open, making the invite to pop in for a coffee as you walk past even stronger. The space itself is expansive, and there’s plenty of room for larger groups, it’s not uncommon for workers in the area to take a mid-morning meeting at Ozone instead of their stuffy conference room. Ozone also holds regular events and loves collaborating with local businesses that they admire.

The coffee is, of course, excellent and not only can you satisfy your long black and flat white needs, but why not branch out and try a batch brew or V60 drip. On the food front, you are well taken care of with a range of bagel options on the menu (and Grizzly bagels used), a cabinet brimming with loaded sandwiches, house-baked goods and treats from local favourites J’AIME.

Community is at the heart of everything Ozone Coffee does, and their Christchurch cafe is the perfect embodiment of this. Whether it’s meeting up for a fluffy, finding that work spot with good wifi or thinking of somewhere that suits everyone, Ozone Coffee on Walker Street is the answer.
