Thirty taps of craft beer, beautiful views, great wine and delicious food. In just 12 words, the essence of Craft Embassy can be summed up – it’s simply a gem.

Nestled up on level one of The Terrace in central Christchurch overlooking the Avon river, Craft Embassy specialises in showcasing an epic range of independent craft beers made by New Zealand brewers. From sours to pilsners to stouts to pale ales, the beer list is always evolving, always interesting and always delicious.

But despite this very unique beer offering, a huge part of Craft Embassy’s charm is its accessibility – it doesn’t matter if you’re a certified beer sommelier, a green-bottle-only kind of person or simply don’t like the stuff – there is something at Craft Embassy for everyone and the friendly staff are there to help you find something you love.

And if it’s not a brew you’re after, the wine list full of local and international wines (Waipara pinot noir or northern Italian prosecco, anyone?) is bound to have something to please. There’s also a range of teas, Underground Espresso coffee and non-alcoholic drinks if you’re that way inclined.

When it comes to food, it’s no surprise Craft Embassy is nailing it – those delicious drinks need something tasty to compliment them. Offering a range of delicious mains and sharing options from fried chicken to crispy falafel to pork belly, Craft Embassy knows how to do favourites and do them well.

The space at Craft Embassy is well equipped for crowds but equally so for a cosy quiet beer with seating options on the front balcony, the glazed pavilion or in cosy booths and tables inside. The versatile nature of the large space has inspired the team at Craft Embassy to play around with hosting pop-ups such as beer tastings and beer and food matchings so make sure you keep an eye on social media for any upcoming events.
