Entering Pixie Bowls in Havelock North feels like being transported to the streets of Bondi Beach or Canggu in Bali. Renowned around town for their smoothie bowls, drinks, toasts and epic coffee, Pixie is a slice of sunshine year round.

From humble beginnings as a takeaway shack on the edge of the town centre, Pixie’s popularity grew and grew until owners Zoe and Hannah decided to open up a permanent home on Napier Road. After moving home from stints overseas, they saw a need to provide fresh, fruity and nutrient-dense foods for everyone to enjoy and the chance to inject some energy and a fun, youthful vibe.  They’ve certainly achieved these goals.

Pixie is a bustling spot from regulars grabbing their morning coffee to those wanting to sit down and enjoy their bowls or toasts and soak up the environment. With a bright white interior and teal accents all around, the aesthetic is clean, understated and highlights that beachside feel. When you enter Pixie, your eyes are immediately drawn to the glass food cabinet laden with refined sugar-free sweet treats from Garden of Eden that almost look too good to eat - almost!

Then your attention moves on to the menu behind the cabinet, and you are spoiled for choice here. With a range of bowls and smoothies that change out seasonally, no matter what you pick, you are guaranteed to feel nourished and satiated afterwards. You can also opt to add a superfood booster for an extra burst of plant-power. Or perhaps you’re in more of a carby mood, then the bagels and toasts are just what you need, and there’s even the option to build your own with a whole host of toppings at your disposal. Round out your meal with a coffee from their expert baristas, and if you’re feeling particularly adventurous, why not try one of their more specialty drinks like a mushroom cacao latte or red velvet latte.

Pixie Bowls is one of those places that is a must-visit, and once you have been in once, you’ll soon find yourself back time and time again.
