Balancing fun and frivolity with being kind to our planet, Wanda Harland is a store in Petone that sells a range of sustainable home goods designed to last the distance. They are not just quality, they’re also timeless, and given that they are ethically sourced, you can feel (and look) good owning them.

From clothing and jewellery to decor and homewares, the range in store is carefully chosen to ensure a variety of well-made brands are available, such as Kowtow, Twenty-Seven Names, Shjark and Thing Thing. While there is a focus on New Zealand-made products, you’ll also find some of the best from around the world. Proudly, Wanda Harland is the exclusive local stockist for Lollys Laundry, a Danish brand creating beautiful clothing for women.

In store, you’ll find a strong environmentally-friendly ethos. Compostable packing is used for orders in store and online, and bringing your own shopping bag is encouraged. Also in store, you’ll find staff who are interesting and dynamic, with an obvious love of clothing.

Wanda Harland was founded by Martha (not Wanda, though Martha did once have a tooth fairy called Wanda!) and the store as a concept has grown alongside Martha’s own development. A place that originally stocked plenty of decor suitable for home renovations and young children, it's now evolved into a store that has an abundance of fun, useful and stylish things, all to Martha’s taste. Martha’s latest obsession has seen the store well stocked with some particularly beautiful Japanese gardening gear — something you probably didn’t know you needed, but in a similar fashion to everything else, would likely become a staple if you do.

Wanda Harland is a well-loved Hutt mainstay: it’s been on Jackson Street since its inception, and as far as Martha is concerned, they hope to stay forever.
