The ultimate community restaurant, Long Beach, is a Waikanae institution. This spot serves the people of Kāpiti Coast from dawn til dusk with anything they might need, from morning coffee to boozy dinners and everything in between.

The kitchen garden at the back of the courtyard is a highlight of this beachside restaurant and a huge part of what makes it so unique. The pesticide-free garden is carefully cared for by two full-time gardeners.

The produce grown on-site and at another one-acre off-site garden influences what you'll find on the menu at any given time. Seasonally driven kai is naturally the go at Long Beach. The menu focuses on modern New Zealand cuisine principles, so expect to find dishes featuring wild venison or duck leg alongside everyone's favourites like pizza and burgers.
