Raumati Social Club is a bit of an institution on the Kāpiti Coast. A cosy communal café, restaurant and live music venue, this is where it’s all happening at Raumati South, seven days a week.

Walk in on a midweek morning and watch a stream of locals be greeted with friendly smiles, aromas of fresh baking and carefully crafted coffee; pop in at lunchtime on a sunny summer’s day and discover the doors wide open, tables of people spilling outdoors onto the pavement and the kitchen pumping out delicious dishes for all to enjoy; arrive on a Friday or Saturday night, and the space will be cleared of tables, with heavy curtains dropped down, filled-to-the-brim with bodies ready to boogie along to a local band playing tunes.

Looking after the locals is of utmost importance here. Showcasing local produce and providing the locals with a fun-filled artistic space to call their second lounge and local musicians with a venue to share their passion with others is at the heart of Raumati Social Club. It’s a safe, comfortable place for people to gather, whether you come on your own or in company. The staff are always up for a chat but know when to give you a moment. Both the cabinet and the menu are filled with plenty of options for a wide range of dietary needs, and your K9 friend is most welcome to join you for a cuppa in the courtyard.

There are not many spots that can pull off everything from an early risers' coffee stop to late night live music venue, but Raumati Social Club does just that. The team here are friendly, the food unpretentious, the drinks hot or cold depending on what you’re after, and the times are always good.
