Have a wander through the garden’s luscious and colourful rows before finding yourself in the shop and café space. You will discover the many creams, masks, salves and serums in the shop that have given this brand its good name over the years. Lynn Kirkland, who may be around when you visit, started the company over thirty years ago. She still formulates all of the products herself, and believes that ‘botanical simplicity’ can support everyday people looking to care for their health in a way that is wholesome and natural.

Amongst some of The Herb Farm’s most popular products, are the Radiance Boost Facial Serum and the Hydrating Overnight Face Mask, Lynn’s personal favourite. Not all serums are created equal, which is why the radiance boost uses New Zealand undaria seaweed extract to support hydration, tamanu oil to plump and smooth and a blend of willow, comfrey, calendula, echinacea and marshmallow to rejuvenate. Try this, and other products, in the shop and even take a few away with you to bring your skincare routine up a notch.

After you’ve had a browse, head to the café where you’ll find similarly inspired meals and treats to feed the whole family. The cabinet is full of small treats that pair well with barista coffee. The flower slice, for one, is sweet but not too sweet, and features lovingly pressed edible flowers from the surrounding gardens. For a larger meal check the menu and the specials board. One special, ‘The Buddha Bowl’, comes served with beetroot and garlic dip, garden salad, seasonal roasted veggies, chickpea herb lemon salad, pickled cabbage and ginger with your choice of free range chicken, scotch filet, halloumi, falafel or smoked salmon.

Be sure to check out the event schedule before you visit The Herb Farm, as workshops, events and other fun goings on often take place in the seminar space.
