Some businesses begin with a vision long before they ever come to fruition. But in this case, the new owners of Found My Way (a mum and daughter duo) started as customers.
While current owner Hayley previously worked in education, she would frequently wander into this gift shopping mecca and get lost in the array of small business finds, from beautiful jewellery to scented candles and handmade ceramics. When an opportunity to take over the business in November 2019 presented itself, she jumped at that chance, and convinced her mum to come along for the gorgeous ride!
Weaving through the shop will present you with options to buy gifts for just about anyone in your life (including the wee ones!), no matter if you have $30 to spend or $300. (Of course, we certainly won’t judge you if you simply wander in search of a special something for yourself.) The team has built wonderful relationships with local makers, and focuses on hidden gem New Zealand businesses, as well as popular brands like Ashley & Co., Elk, and Status Anxiety, among others.
The vibe of the shop is almost transportive in a way. Like a feel-good movie that can take you out of reality, the store feels like a tiny escape from the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life and invites you to slow down, smell the diffusers, delight in the beautiful self-care products, or indulge in an ethically-made bag. One thing’s for sure: it’s the kind of place you’ll happily return to again and again, without ever feeling like you’ve seen it all.
