Zambesi is a New Zealand fashion icon whose name has been synonymous with edgy fashion for as long as we can remember.
Elisabeth and Neville Findlay have a lot of good to answer for after developing this brand in 1979. Classic Zambesi pieces incorporate inky colours, innovative tailoring and unusual fabrics. If Wednesday Addams’s style met Le Corbusier’s structures Zambesi would be their birth child. Materials range from classic black leather to black felt, satin, chiffon, wool and so forth. The variety of fabrics and colour is an ode to the avant-garde designers who, without fail, bring an individual sense to each collection. As an extra bonus, for those males among us, custom-made suits are available from the Britomart store for special events.
The concept store in Britomart reflects the design ethos of Zambesi in its entirety. Decked out with black wallpaper, glass vitrines and retro display drawers, Zambesi brings their style into all elements of their world. Never quite walking the line on anything, Zambesi offers a unique and exciting array to New Zealand fashion.
