Bringing a little sample of Korean cuisine to downtown Tauranga is Chicken Fryday, a specialist in, you guessed it, Korean Fried Chicken.

Its name is a cheeky play on words rather than a simple reference to Chicken Fryday’s days of operation. Everyone looks forward to Fridays, and most of us can’t wait to get our fingers dirty over some delicious fried chicken, so at Chicken Fryday, they’ve combined the best of both worlds. And even better, Chicken Fryday is open every day of the week - not just Friday!

Understandably, the offering is predominantly crispy fried boneless chicken. There are over ten different flavour combinations, but the best-selling dishes have proven to be the ‘sweet and spicy’ and the ‘soy garlic’ chicken options. All the sauces are made on-site, right down to every marinade, batter and dipping sauce used across the menu.

For those wanting to try something different, other menu items include Korean style hot dogs and fries, as well as cheese balls, corn-cheese and potato on a stick. For dessert, the classic custard filled fish dish is sure to fill any gaps and is well worth trying.

Whilst there is the option to take away, dining in at Chicken Fryday is an enjoyable experience amongst its spacious, clean and modern fit out. The interior adopts a minimalist but stylish approach, with a range of bar stools, chairs and seated bench options.

Chicken Fryday hopes to keep developing new flavour combinations, as they hope to continue introducing Tauranga patrons to the authentic flavours of Korea.
