Their specialty is a darn good cup of joe and at Mt Zion Coffee Co, they love to serve their beloved community the very best of brews. Mt Zion is a family operated coffee shop in the heart of downtown Tauranga, and they’re pretty proud of the inclusive, local following they’ve established over the past few years.

Starting out in a small shipping container complex known as ‘Our Place’, Mt Zion Coffee Co were able to start growing their reputation, connecting with people who have now become not just customers but also friends. Those friends range from the smallest of people right through to the elderly: there are free fluffy Fridays for the young ones, and quality conversations to be had amongst the beautiful elderly community, all forming part of the Mt Zion whānau.

The coffee goods are provided by Grey Roasting Co, a Hamilton based enterprise, and they offer different single origin coffees for both espresso and filter brews. To ensure there’s always something new happening, the team also highlights guest roasters to showcase what the rest of the New Zealand coffee scene has to offer. And in a natural pairing, local bakery Breadhead keeps Mt Zion Coffee Co well stocked with delicious, freshly made treats.

There’s visions of helping with the rejuvenation of the CBD, of fostering a community where people feel valued, and offering somewhere to enjoy a top quality specialty coffee experience. Mt Zion Coffee Co also seeks to bring knowledge and understanding about what makes the specialty coffee industry unique, while giving customers the opportunity to try new and exciting coffee. And if customers want to learn something new - whether it be honing simple skills or finessing your latte art, on site classes can help with this.

At Mt Zion Coffee Co, enjoying a cuppa is so much more than just a hot drink. Mt Zion Coffee Co creates the moment for people to gather and to share in something special, all the while enjoying that delicious cup of joe.
