As its name suggests, Little Long in Tauranga is both little and long. It’s the kind of cafe you’ll visit once and instantly feel at home. Whether it’s the warming aroma of freshly brewed Atomic coffee, the smiling faces of the staff, or the beautiful interior design, it’s an easy place to meet up with people or enjoy some time alone. There is an impressive amount of seating, and the high ceilings and natural light make it feel big enough for everyone.

The goal of its creation was to create a space that is inviting for all. Somewhere that is trendy and cool but without the ego. The airy space is aesthetic, decorated with lush plant life and abundant lighting that creates a feeling of natural calmness. The offerings are simple, fresh and tasty, mostly made on site and featuring nothing but quality ingredients. The menu offers something for everyone, no matter the occasion, dietary requirement or budget.

There are many standout items on the menu, including their signature Reuben sandwich with 12-hour slow-cooked pastrami, pickles, sauerkraut, swiss cheese and housemade Russian dressing. It would be remiss not to mention the bagel menu: freshly baked bagels with a range of toppings, including the classic ‘build your own option’.

For something sweet, the cookie pies usually steal the show. Decadently stuffed cookies, with flavours such as S’mores, Reese’s peanut butter cups, Nutella and Biscoff - need we say more? There are also plenty of other goodies made inhouse, including their heavenly lemon slice, ginger slice (both of which are gluten free), or the enticing salted caramel cheesecake brownie.

Next time you’re in need of caffeine and a central city respite, give Little Long a try.
