A name already well known by a few lucky Tauranga residents, RIKARIKA has finally opened its first retail space in downtown Tauranga city. Since 2020, RIKARIKA has been operating solely as a catering business, with a few Japanese pop ups along the way. Now, it’s bringing a slice of Japan to Tauranga on a permanent basis, so local residents aren’t left wanting and waiting for their next RIKARIKA catered event.
At RIKARIKA, they pride themselves on deliciously fresh sushi served quickly, and that’s not to mention the exquisite presentation of the food. The space has been thoughtfully fitted out, conveniently located for week day workers, but also a modern and comfortable spot for dining in.
While sushi is the main event - nigiri and sashimi have proven themselves to be pretty popular. Of course, it’s always hard to go past the marinated Japanese fried chicken, or karaage chicken as we’ve come to know it. There are a few different options on the menu, keeping those with dietary requirements well satisfied.
The vision at RIKARIKA is to strike the balance between 'taste' and 'wellness'. RIKARIKA demonstrates that food is fundamental to life, and that what we eat becomes who we are. They want people to experience tasty, quality food as part of their daily routine - a seemingly simple goal, but when well executed: a recipe for success that is hard to beat.
