Step off the street and into Pavement and, trust us, you won’t look back. Located on Dunedin’s bustling George Street, Pavement is a store that delivers more than skateboards and street style. It is an institution.

You know you’re hitting the mark when the kids who originally bought skateboards from you are now bringing in their offspring to buy boards. And that’s exactly what the owners of Pavement, Craig and Evie, are experiencing. The couple's passion is as evident today as it was when they first opened. Their commitment to exceptional service has kept them in very good stead. Loyal customers seek out their supportive yarns and impeccable insights.

And while Pavement has garnered a reputation for being a cornerstone in the Dunedin skate community (deservedly so), don't be fooled - this is a place for everyone to savour. Racks of apparel, accessories and kicks sit happily next to skateboard paraphernalia. Evie showcases her own bespoke designs in-store - think balloon pants and pinafores - which have been handcrafted by graduates from the local design and fashion school. Those with a keen interest in reissued skateboards from the 80s and 90s will also have their nostalgia thirst quenched at Pavement with their wall dedicated to skateboard decks.

Skateboarding, in its many incarnations, is inherently cool, and what Pavement cleverly does is strike the balance between frothing specialist and go-to high-street store.
